RJ Petrella is a physician, research scientist and writer in Boston. He was born in Providence, R.I. and grew up in the city's West End. He has practiced emergency medicine since the early 1990s and has carried out research in computational biophysics for many years, having authored or co-authored a number of scientific articles and op-eds. Days of the Giants is his first complete novel. He is married with three children.
