Logic is both the method ( or technique) and the science of valid (i. e., correct) reasonning, and valid readoning is a basic requirement for success and efficiency in all the human activities. The aim of this book is to introduce , especilly undergraduate university students of all departmens, to some of the best techniques of reasoning devised by modern logic ( called also mathematical, or symbolic logic). Bu kitap universite lisans ogrencileri icin modern (sembolik, yani matematiksel) mantigi konu edinen giris ve orta duzeyde bir ders kitabidir. Ozellikle, basta ODTU olmak uzere Ingilizce ogretim yapan universitelerin gerek Felsefe bolumlerinin zorunlu Mantik derslerinde gerekse diger bolumler icin acilan teknik, teknik-olmayan ve serbest secmeli Mantik derslerinde kullanilmak uzere hazirlanmistir. Ayrica kendi kendine Ingilizce Modern Mantik ogrenmek isteyen genel okuyucuya onerilmektedir. Kitabi okumak icin Mantik konusunda on bir bilgi gerekmemektedir. Islenen konular cok sayida ornekle beslenmis, ayrica en kucuk alt bolumlerin bile sonunda alistirmalar verilmistir. Dort ana bolumden olusan kitapta, sirasiyla onermelere mantigi, niceleme (yuklemler) mantigi, ozdeslik mantigi ve varlik mantigi incelenmektedir. Ilk iki bolum temel mantik sayilip, kitabin buyuk bir kismini olustururken son iki bolum ise daha ileri duzeyde islenmistir.
