A party in the Teusquillo barrio of the Colombian capital city Bogotá, where the good and the powerful of civil, church, and military institutions spar for influence amidst the normal social whirl of newly urban Latin American life.

But for two of those invited, the party offers a woman and man the only chance they might have to break with the past and discover their true identity.
