Claudia Stone is a dreamer, thanks in part to her beloved Aunt Misty who has been showering her one and only favorite niece with classic romance novels since she was a little girl. Her aunt has also helped to boost Claudia’s ultimate goal of becoming a published romance novelist by fostering it from day one while her own mother thought it was crazy… and doesn’t let a chance go by without reminding Claudia just how crazy it is. Jonathan Lewis is a realist. He’s been a high-powered divorce attorney in South Florida for too long. And after witnessing first-hand how so-called “happily ever after’s” really turn out, he’s beyond jaded when it comes to relationships. Since romance is the one thing he simply doesn’t have time or patience for in his life, he’d much rather keep things light with women than start something that will undoubtedly end horribly. Does he think there is a woman out there for him somewhere? Yes, but that would require real work and time, both of which he has none to spare in his life at the moment.

When these opposites get together, Claudia makes the mistake of drawing upon her true-life relationship for her latest manuscript and keeping it from Jonathan until what she thinks is the right time. Just as her writing seems to finally hit its stride with Jonathan as her “hero,” Claudia is also hit with devastating news. She falls for Jonathan even more as he comforts her through the heartbreaking loss. And Jonathan, try as he might to keep the attraction to Claudia purely on a physical level, surprises himself by wanting so much more from the adorably sexy and vulnerable writer.
