Cheyenne James is the daughter of one of the few black families in the town of Cedarwild, CO. She's the middle-daughter in a family that shines bright. Painfully shy, incredibly brilliant, she works hard to find her way in a town that she's unable to shine in.

Connor McCullough is the most popular kid in town, son of the richest man in town and her bully. He plays a particularly cruel trick on Cheyenne at the end of high school prompting Cheyenne to leave and vow to never return to Cedarwild again.

Cheyenne returns for her high school reunion. She, returns only because her family and best friend beg her to return to the town that she has avoided for so long. While still shy, she's changed over the years and has seen the world and become incredibly successful in her own right.

Connor is a man is at the crossroads of his life and trying to make amends for the choices he's made in the past. He's now a single father and trying to do right by his son and show him how to be a good person. When he sees Cheyenne at their high school reunion he now has the opportunity to right his biggest wrong-all of the years he spent tormenting her.
