Born and raised in Mississippi, Tamar and her family moved to Memphis, Tennessee when she was sixteen years of age. Living the best life, she had it all – a family that was there for her no matter what. Until she met Ricky.

Giving all her time and attention to Ricky, her family feels Tamar doesn’t need them anymore. However, when Ricky decides to lay hands on her in front of them, they have no choice but to intervene. Trying to talk Tamar into leaving Ricky, her family has no luck – forcing them to sever ties with her for good. With no family or friends to run to, what will Tamar do when things turn from bad to worse?
