Dr. H.G.E. (Els) Rose is an Associate Professor at Universiteit Utrecht.

Els Rose is trained as a medievalist in an interdisciplinary tradition. Ever since her graduate studies, she has combined methods en vogue in literary, philological, and historical fields with methods developed in various theological disciplines (liturgy, history of Christianity). From this interdisciplinary perspective she studies the origin and transmission of Christian hagiographic traditions, with a focus on the medieval period.
