Jason Hershey is an educator and author originally from Phoenix, Arizona, who now lives in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, with his family. Drawing on his experiences working with young people, Jason crafts authentic narratives that explore themes of identity, resilience, loss, and the search for purpose in the face of adversity.

His Theo series follows the journey of Thelonious "Theo" Mitchell, a young man navigating grief, friendship, love, and self-discovery while fighting to transcend the limitations of his circumstances. The series includes:

To Die To Live - Theo's story begins with devastating loss and the transformative friendship that gives him hope for a better future.

The Chosen Path - Theo confronts the painful realities of first love and learns that sometimes walking away is the strongest choice.

The Purpose of Life - Theo finds his calling working with at-risk youth, only to face trauma that threatens everything he's worked to become. (Available Spring 2026)

A fourth book in the Theo series is currently in development.

Jason's work honors the struggles of young people who refuse to be defined by their zip codes or circumstances, celebrating their determination to build meaningful lives despite the obstacles they face.
