Born in London and lived there until I was in my twenties. My professional career has spanned government service, international banking, lecturing in economics and management training.
It was my lecturing that led me to write my first six books, all of which are now relics of my past rather than current bestsellers! Always thought I would like to write a novel and finally overcame idleness and other distractions to write a book that had a gestation period at least twice as long as an elephant. Actually enjoyed writing it and have now completed my second novel, which is set in the 1960s. I suppose I like writing about the past because I am very interested in history, especially modern history. There is also a sense that now we can be more accurate about the background to a novel than it was possible to be when the events were occurring. Apart from writing, I enjoy literature in all its forms, the theatre and art and some sports, especially cricket. I am married with a wife and two grown up children and live on an island off the English coast,
