Before that he was an editor and writer at The American Lawyer magazine. He has made frequent appearances on CNBC and BBC. He earned his undergraduate degree at the University of California, Berkeley, and a J.D. from Harvard Law School. He practiced law in San Francisco for six years before becoming a journalist.
