Sidney George Hedges (1897-1974) was a prolific British author who wrote about a diverse range of topics, and whose work included: children's fiction, swimming and diving manuals, adult mystery novels, books devoted to various hobbies and games, and a few books of a religious nature. He published many articles and short stories in the popular annuals and juvenile periodicals of his day, including: the Boy's Own Paper, Chums, Scout, the Girl's Own Paper and St. Nicholas Magazine.
