Son of Dutch writer and poet Bart Chabot. After studying history at the Amsterdam University Sebastiaan Chabot (1989) went to New York to follow NYU Creative Writing, a two-year course for which only twenty aspiring writers of the eight hundred applications per year are admitted. He graduated in 2017 with Jonathan Safran Foer. Chabot's debuted in March 2020.
