Dr. Hamidah Mat is the wife of the former Education Minister, YB Dr. Maszlee Malik. Together, they have four children.

She is also the Programme Director for the Master of Islamic Studies programme in the Cluster of Education and Social Sciences.

Dr. Hamidah graduated with a Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching (PGDT) in the first session of the 22nd Convocation on 22 Sept.

Although she already had a PhD, she enrolled in the PGDT programme in January 2017.

She was motivated by its focus on educational theories, which she felt could help her make the learning process more interesting.
