Helen Saito is a fourth-generation Japanese-American writer. She lives with her husband and cat in one of Washington State's many beautiful forests.

When not writing, she enjoys a variety of crafts and geeky hobbies. She also has strong feelings about the value of the Creative Commons (her books are released under a Creative Commons BY-NC-SA license), and is a member of the Electronic Frontier Foundation and the Organization For Transformative Works.
