Don, born in New Jersey and educated in Chicago, is a practicing physician and the dedicated father of two daughters, a son, and nine beautiful grandchildren.
Leading medical teams that deliver desperately needed medical care to the poor and needy deep in the African bush, as well as Egypt, Ethiopia and the war-torn Middle East has become one of Don’s driving passions in life. Delivering medical care to those who need it most, he considers himself deeply fortunate to be in a position to do so, regardless of the risks and inconveniences of life on the front lines.
Don thrives on adventure, intrigue, and adrenaline. His pursuit of the thrill is not thrust upon him—it is that which makes him unique, and opens doors otherwise barred to all outsiders. He will go wherever he can to do what he can – always.
Thicker Than Blood, his most recent novel inspired by real events in his own life, take us up close and personal to the Chicago Mob, CIA, and FBI in an inspirational story of human trafficking, political espionage and survival.
The Ghost of Africa, released in 2016, is the whirlwind story of a doctor working in Sudan caught up in a battle not of his choosing that may cost him everything, including the life of a little girl with cancer. Again, the story is inspired by real events.
Thirteen Months, his only non-fiction follows the story of Don’s wife, Gwen, who battled cancer for that period of time. Having met when Gwen was sixteen and Don seventeen, their story is inspirational through thirty-three years of marriage and the working of God’s plan.
Don is an acclaimed, award-winning author who believes strongly in writing wholesome, inspirational, and challenging novels that place the reader in the center of the story.
