Amy McCulloch is a internationally bestselling author, raised by a Chinese mother and British father in Ottawa, Canada. Now living in London, UK, with her two sons, she has written in multiple genres across age groups, and been published in over fifteen different languages. She also writes fantasy as Mei Goodwin.

Before becoming a full-time author, she was an editorial director for a major British publishing house. In 2013, she was named one of The Bookseller‘s Rising Stars of publishing.

When not writing, she loves travelling, climbing, running and mountaineering. In September 2019, she became the youngest Canadian woman to reach the summit of Mt Manaslu in Nepal – the world’s eighth highest mountain at 8,163m (26,781ft). She also ran the 'world's toughest footrace' the Marathon Des Sables in 2022 and is an A-licensed skydiver.
