Martin Kubuš is a Slovak translator and a teacher at Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica.

As a student, he participated in various translation competitions. In 2006, Mr. Kubuš won the Slovak student translation competition Translation Universiade with the short story Tobermory written by British author Saki.

His first translated book was a humorous anthology Side Effects by Woody Allen. He also translated a documentary novel Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption by Laura Hillenbrand, a historical novel The Sisters Broters by Canadian-born author Patrick deWitt, a short story collection The Best of Saki (which he translated together with his colleagues Barbora Kráľová and Martin Djovčoš) and a motivational book The Manager by Mike Carson. Furthermore, he translated a controversial historical book Zealot: The Life and Times of Jesus of Nazareth by Iranian-American writer Reza Aslan and many more.

Mr. Kubuš is also a drummer in the alternative rock band 220V. Martin Kubuš lives in Banská Bystrica, he is married and is a father of two daughters.
