Jane Donovan is a writer and visual artist who has raised three children, owned several antique stores, traveled the world, and done a variety of jobs, including blacksmithing. Her sister, Holly Trechter, is a painter and software geek who worked at Apple Computer and Stanford University. Although Holly and Jane sort of live in different centuries, they have created four books together, which have been finalists or medalists in the Benjamin Franklin Awards, Mom’s Choice Awards, Moonbeams, Wishing Shelf Book Awards, Best Book Awards, and the Foreword INDIES. Also, their book Galileo! Galileo! was selected for the 2021 Best STEM Books list from the National Science Teaching Association, in cooperation with the Children’s Book Council.
