Rudy Kachmann, M.D., is the cofounder of the Kachmann Mind Body Institute in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and has been in practice for over 40 years. Dr. Kachmann received his Neurosurgery training from Georgetown University. He received his M.D. and a B.S. in Chemistry from Indiana University.
His major interests are wellness and holistic healing. He has been on PBS and his lectures have been broadcast on PBS. He is a regular lecturer on subjects of the mind body including diet, stress, cancer, back pain and Asian healing. He lectures to corporations and includes stress and finances lectures. He is regularly featured in local media, including radio shows, doing a regular monthly television broadcast called Docs on Call, newspapers, magazines and medical journals. He is the author of Twenty Prescriptions for Living the Good Life, Welcome to Your Mind Body, DVDs on mind body, back pain, a DVD lecture series and producer of Oh My Aching Back.
Dr. Kachmann is on the Board of Directors of Day Break Children s Shelter and the Board of Trustees of Lutheran Hospital. He is the founder of the Kachmann Behavioral Foundation that funds community-based educational initiatives, and is a member of the Tennis Hall of Fame. He has received several awards, including the Martin Luther King award for his support of community outreach. Dr. Kachmann is a long-time resident of Fort Wayne where he lives with his wife, Yorkshire terrier and two Tonkinese cats.
