Nico Scheepmaker was a Dutch (sports) journalist, poet and columnist. He read Slavic languages and linguistics at the University of Amsterdam and became a translator who translated Boris Pasternak’s Doctor Zhivago into Dutch. His best known pen names are Trijfel, Hopper and Ivo Vettewinkel.
